'The Batman' director gets honest about upcoming villain

Ahead of The Batman 2, some on social media speculate Freeze would be the new villain facing the Caped Crusader.

Its director, Matt Reeves, is now weighing in on these discussions on a podcast with MTV's Josh Horowitz at the Golden Globes 2025.

"I mean, you know, you just kind of look at them casually and go, like, 'Oh, is that what they think now? Interesting!'" he responded.

“You've just got to put your head down and do what you do, and try and do it as best you can," the director shared.

Matt, meanwhile, played coy on who would throw a punch at Batman in the sequel; however, he teased that the upcoming installment would see the lead star, Robert Pattinson, in a different light.

"I think so, I hope so," he continued. "I'm super excited about what we're doing. I really can't wait to share it with everybody. The story is a continuation in a certain way and completely different in another. It's gonna show a different side to Rob[ert Pattinson]. I think it's going to be really cool."

In the meantime, Matt said that though the script is not complete, the film will go on the floors this year and set to released on October 1, 2027.
