Musharraf escape case: IHC orders action against IGP Islamabad
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ordered action against the Islamabad’s Inspector General Police, Bin Amin Khan of the capital during proceedings of the Musharraf escape case.

Justice Shaukhat Aziz Siddiqui directed Interior Secretary to present a report pertaining to what action had been taken against IGP Khan in the next 24 hours.

Earlier on Tuesday, police presented its inquiry report prepared by Additional Inspector General Operations (AIG) Sultan Taimuri in the court.

The report held DSP Secretariat Idrees Rathore and SHO Secretariat Qaisar Gilani responsible for the escape, followed by their suspension by the interior minister while the SHO of Secretariat police station has been issued a show-cause notice.

SSP Operations Yaseen Farooq and SP City Captain Ilyas were declared innocent in the case, according to the report.

The inquiry report further stated that SSP Operation Yaseen Farooq had ordered to arrest Pervez Musharraf but DSP Secretariat did not deploy additional force to make the arrest possible. Moreover, SP City Captain Ilyas was on a two-day course.

Pervez Musharraf had managed to escape from the court in the presence of SSP Islamabad and spent a night at his Chak Shahzad farmhouse after the IHC rejected his bail.
