Khloe Kardashian and Scott Disick are viewing dating and single parenthood through the same lens.
The Good American cofounder, 40, sat with Disick, 41, for the first episode of Khloé in Wonder Land podcast, where the two chatted about how they're prioritising their respective kids instead of trying to date.
“How are you with dating around the kids?” Kardashian asked Disick, who is dad to daughter Penelope, 12, and sons Mason, 15, and Reign, 10, whom he shares with ex Kourtney Kardashian Barker.
She elaborated on her question, saying, “Like that’s separate. Or is it? Do you discuss that with them? Do they ask? Because they’re older, I imagine they’re asking.”
Disick responded with more consideration into his role as a parent than as a bachelor.
“Yeah, they ask me…they’d like me to be with somebody I think. And they do voice to me that they’d like me to be with someone," Disick responded. "And I kinda say until I find the right person, I don’t really want to bring another person around unless it’s like the end all be all person."
He continued, "Just cause I don’t want them to get attached to somebody else, but I have to do my thing too, or I’ll never meet anyone," he goes on to explain. "But they’re all starting to get older and it’s not that much longer until they’re of age, all of them."
"So for the next 5,6,7, years, if my attention is on them, I have the rest of my life to be a single guy. Right now I like that my focus is on them. And if I was with somebody else, yeah, I’d still be a good dad but I would have somebody that I’d be putting on a pedestal near them.”
Khloe also nodded, noting her role as a single mother herself to daughter True, 6, and son Tatum, 2, whom she shares with ex Tristan Thompson.
"But because I feel the same, I feel like my kids are…yes mine are younger than yours but they’re just my top priority. And I don’t care about dating. I don’t know what will happen in a couple years or next year, I don’t know," the reality star noted.
The Kardashians star doubled down on their mutual understanding of single parenting, lauding him for thinking wisely.
"But I’m not dating, I don’t care to. My focus is on just my kids. But I think if I wasn’t in my situation, I’d be like, ‘You’re so full of s***.’ But I totally get it and to me, I think it’s the smartest thing.”
Disick then shared a rough estimate of when he'll be able to date, noting that since his "youngest is 10," eight years later would be good to go.
To this, Khloe added, “I mean I feel like in 8 years, you and I both will find someone,” with Disick admitting to not being worried about dating and not wanting to "search and be disappointed."
“Isn’t it so hard to date now? I think it’s so different," the mom of two added.
