Julia Garner shares insight on Silver Surfer in 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps'

Julia Garner is talking about her role as the Silver Surfer in Marvel’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

Garner is playing Shalla-Bal, who becomes the Silver Surfer, in the upcoming The Fantastic Four: First Steps. The movie also stars Pedro Pascal as Mr. Fantastic, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, Vanessa Kirby as Susan Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm.

When asked about the film, the Ozark star told Entertainment Weekly: “I can’t really speak a lot about that project. All I can just say is that I’m very lucky to have a part in that project, and the Fantastic Four are fantastic. They are so amazing in this. I’m very excited for people to see them.”

“I’m assuming that this Silver Surfer is gonna be really shiny like in the other previous ones and the comic books. So, yeah, that’s all I’m gonna say,” she said about her character’s appearance.

The Emmy-winning actress also revealed that this is the first time Marvel courted her for any role in the MCU.

“I feel like a lot of it has to do with casting and what feels right, but that’s not just Marvel; that’s any project,” Julia Garner said. “You need to connect with the character.”
