Damian Hardung opens up on 'tough time' filming 'Maxton Hall' season 2

Damian Hardung is opening up about filming the second season of Amazon Prime hit Maxton Hall – The World Between Us.

Damian revealed that his character James Beaufort faces grief in the upcoming series and filming that took a toll on his naturally joyous disposition.

He said: “I just did the ADR for it and the second season is really dark and [there’s] a lot of grief and trauma in my character.”

The Love Sucks star continued: “I had a really tough time shooting that, it really pushed me to a point where I’m like: ‘I don’t know if that’s healthy anymore.’ So, I’m really eager to see how that played out on screen.”

Sharing insight on his experience in acting, he added: “I have the privilege of having the perspective of enjoying most of the stuff I end up doing, [of having] that lightheartedness, which went away a bit shooting James in the second season. I really tried to get back to that because that’s something very close to me.”

Maxton Hall is based on Mona Kasten’s book trilogy and follows Ruby Bell (Harriet Herbig-Matten), a girl from a middle class background who starts a romance with uber-privileged heir James Beaufort (Damian Hardung) after winning a scholarship to an elite college.
