Dolly Parton’s love of work has left her loved ones worried about her health as they "can't remember" the last time the country music icon took a break.

Parton is preparing to tour for her new album Dolly Parton & Family: Smoky Mountain DNA – Family, Faith & Fables and currently promoting it. Her packed schedule is cause for concern to her loved ones.

One source said, per Radar Online: "People can't remember the last time she took a vacation, and the feeling is she needs to give herself a break."

The source also claimed that the 11 times Grammy winner’s pals wish she’d spend more time with her husband Carl Dean.

But she recently told Entertainment Tonight that if her 82-year-old husband "were in ill health or needed her," she would "definitely pull way back."

The source continued: "She can't quit performing and feels she owes it to her fans."

"The fear is if Dolly doesn't slow down and start to delegate more responsibilities she'll burn out and no-one wants that,” noted the insider.

However, Dolly Parton’s ideology about life is the opposite of her pals’ and the icon wants to die doing what she loves and not while taking a break from it.

"I'm not one to sit around doing nothing. I'll just hopefully drop dead in the middle of a song on stage someday. Hopefully one I've written," Dolly said.
