Bruce Springsteen just paid a heartfelt tribute to the iconic R&B legend.

Moore, who was known for his musical contributions via the duo, Sam & Dave, died in Florida, on Monday, at the age of 89, due to complication as he recovered from surgery, as per Daily Star.

Taking to his official website, the popular guitarist wrote, "Over on E Street, we are heartbroken to hear of the death of Sam Moore, one of America's greatest soul voices.”

"There simply isn't another sound like Sam's soulful tenor in American music. Having had the honour to work with Sam on several occasions, he was a sweet and funny man,” he further penned.

Complimenting Moore’s musical prowess, Springsteen noted, “He was filled with stories of the halcyon days of soul music, and to the end had that edge of deep authenticity in his voice I could only wonder at. We offer our prayers to his wife Joyce and thanks for the immortal recordings Sam left us. God bless."

Sam & Dave has remained one of the most popular R&B groups of the 1960s who worked with the songwriting/production team of Isaac Hayes and David Porter to produce many hit songs, with their most renowned work being Soul Man.

Being labelled as "the greatest of all soul duos" by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame after being inducted in 1992, one half of the duo, Dave Prater, then passed away six years later due to a fatal car accident.

The other half, Sam Moore, continued to live and even received the Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award in 2019 on behalf of the duo.
