Queen Elizabeth was ‘secretly furious’ over Harry, Meghan naming their daughter ‘Lilibet’

Late Queen Elizabeth II was furious when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle named their daughter Lilibet, the queen's childhood nickname, without her permission, a new book has revealed.

According to Robert Hardman’s book The Making of a King: King Charles III and the Modern Monarchy, a source revealed that the Queen was "as angry as I'd ever seen her" after she got to know what the Sussexes had named their daughter, as per In Touch Weekly.

The author claimed that the Queen felt Harry and Meghan had taken something that was “rightfully hers” when their named their little girl, Lilibet.

Citing a staff member, the author revealed that “Elizabeth II had been ‘as angry as I’d ever seen her’ after the Sussexes announced that she had given them her blessing to call their baby ‘Lilibet,’ the queen’s childhood nickname.”

As per the book, she told the aides that “I don’t own the palaces, I don’t own the paintings, the only thing I own is my name. And now they’ve taken that.”

And although the Queen publicly congratulated the couple, she never confirmed if she had granted Harry and Meghan the permission to use the name.

“That was just another one of their lies,” the author added.
