KARACHI: In light of the Youm-e-Ali procession set to take place at 4pm today (Tuesday), the Karachi Traffic Police has issued a diversion plan and alternate routes due to road closures owing to security concerns.
The main procession will commence from Tibet Centre and will culminate at Soldier Bazar due to which the MA Jinnah Road will be closed for traffic from Tibet Centre to Guru Mandir along with surrounding streets.
Sharea Quaideen will also be closed from the Khudadad signal. However, the bridge from Khudada signal to Saddar will remain open, added the traffic police.
Those using Bahadur Yar Jang Road will go from Guru Mandir to Tower, have been advised to commute via Soldier Bazar No 1 Signal Coast Guard and Anklesaria Hospital Signal.
Commuters going from Sharea Quaideen to Naumaish Chowrangi, MA Jinnah Road and those from the Society Light Signal, traffic should take the route from Ayesha Aziz Chowrangi to PP Chowrangi and similarly from the Society Light Signal should take the route from Khudadad Colony bridge to the Empress Market.
People from Fresco to Numiash Chowrangi can take the Eidgah Chowk route, along the post office on the left to Jubilee to Nishtar Road or from Tibet Centre on the right to Regal Chowk.
Traffic from Fawara Chowk to Garden Nishtar Road will be moved from Fawara Chowk to Abdullah Haroon Road.
Commuters can go from Paradise Signal to the left to Passport Office and on the right to the Empress Market.
Meanwhile, traffic from Garden Baghicha to Aga Khan Third Road can go from Anklesaria to Gul Plaza on the right to Tibet Chowk.
