Jessica Simpson and her husband, former NFL player Eric Johnson are separating after a decade of marriage.

According to People, “Eric and I have been living separately, navigating a painful situation in our marriage,” Simpson said in a statement.

He continued by admitting, “Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for the love and support coming our way and ask for privacy as we work through this as a family.”

Moreover, the couple, who tied the knot in July 2014, share three children, daughters Maxwell "Maxi" Drew, and Birdie Mae and son Ace Knute.

Additionally, the announcement followed recent speculation about their relationship.

As per the publication, Johnson was seen without his wedding ring in November, while Simpson teased a personal "comeback" to music on Instagram, sharing photos from a recording studio with the caption, "This comeback is personal. It’s an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve."

Furthermore, the pair first met in 2010 through a mutual friend and were engaged within six months of dating.

It is worth mentioning that the outlet reported, they welcomed their first two children, Maxwell and Ace, before marrying in a lavish ceremony in Montecito, California, where their children played key roles as ring bearer and flower girl.
