Jessica Simpson focuses on music comeback amid split

Jessica Simpson recently made an announcement of her split from her husband Eric Johnson, however, the pair quietly separated a while ago.

As per a report by People published on January 14, an insider gave some insights into the decision of the Take My Breath Away singer's separation from her husband of 10 years.

Although Simpson confirmed her split on January 13, the pair have been living apart for some time.

"They have been separated for a while," the source revealed, adding that "Jess is doing OK."

Amid the breakup, the 44-year-old singer is all set to launch her musical comeback.

Simpson is "excited about her new album," the tattler said, but "separating is not anything she's taken lightly."

The news came one day after the businesswoman released the statement, confirming the end of her marriage.

"Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage," she revealed to the publisher.

"Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family."

It is pertinent to mention that the former couple are parents to three kids, daughters, Maxwell Drew and Birdie Mae and son Ace Knute.
