Princess of Wales Kate Middleton and Prince William have received new honor following her surprise visit to cancer hospital on Tuesday.

The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity shared a photo of Kate and William on its official X, formerly Twitter handle and announced: “We’re delighted to announce that The Prince and Princess of Wales are now Joint Patrons of The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust.

“Their Joint Patronage was announced following a visit by Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales to our Chelsea hospital earlier today.”

In another tweet, the charity said, “Her Royal Highness’ message over the last year has been one of resilience and hope, and her support for The Royal Marsden stems from a deep empathy for those facing similar challenges, as well as following The Princess’ own cancer journey and treatment at The Royal Marsden.”

“Today’s visit carries forward The Royal Family’s proud tradition of supporting both the hospital and the Charity – The Prince of Wales has held the role of President of The Royal Marsden since 2007; a position which was previously held by his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales,” it further tweeted.
