Liam Payne's friend, Roger Nores, has decided to take his late father’s father, Geoff Payne to court.

As reported by Rolling Stone, Roger filed a defamation lawsuit against Geoff in Florida.

Rogers decided to file the lawsuit in response of the move made earlier by Liam’s father who initially told in "sworn declarations" to police that Roger was part of a "care group" dedicated to his son because he "could not be left alone in the vulnerable situation.

His claims were later denied by the former manager, declaring it as "false”.

Now in his lawsuit, the friend claimed that Geoff's statements impacted his reputation in "mega proportions with extensive damages".

Roger also alleged that he and the Strip That Down hitmaker were just "mutual dear friends" and nothing more.

In the 263-page document, the former One Direction star’s friend is seeking damages of $10 million.

Apart from Roger Nores, four people have been charged in connection with the death of Liam Payne.

For the unversed, the late singer died on 16 October, 2024, after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
