David Lynch’s reason of death has finally been unveiled.

The American filmmaker’s tragic passing is reportedly being linked to devastating Los Angeles wildfires in Southern California.

While discussing the cause of his death, an insider told Deadline that the Lynch, who had received an honorary Academy Award in 2019 for his contributions to cinema, was “forced to relocate from his house” situated in Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles.

Moreover, the mole dished out due to that, his health took a turn for the worse.

According to the source, the wildfires would have drastically affected Lynch’s health, as the late director revealed his emphysema diagnosis last year, which was caused by smoking for most of his life.

Furthermore, Lynch, who died at the age of 78, confirmed in November 2024, that he needed supplemental oxygen for strenuous activities, which he classified as “walking across a room” and more.

He also denied directing films on set or leaving his home for projects due to fears of COVID-19 further affecting his condition.

David Lynch was famous for his work in Twin Peaks, Blue Velvet, The Elephant Man and Mulholland Drive.
