Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor have more appreciation for their marriage after spending some time apart.
Severance producer Stiller recently revealed that he and wife Taylor separated in 2017 and got back together during the COVID lockdown in 2020.
“I don’t know how it happened other than we both wanted it,” Stiller said during an appearance on The View.
He noted that in any relationship, “You have to work at it.”
“Now, every day that we’re together, we do not take for granted,” the Meet the Fockers actor said. “At least, I know I don’t, because you know it could go away and that to me is the gift for our relationship is that we have that every day, and I really am so happy that we’re together.”
The Severance director added that “when COVID happened,” his family “all got a house together,” and after months of living together, he got back together with his wife.
“I dunno. I’m just grateful,” Stiller shared. “I don’t have any great relationship advice other than I’m so grateful that we’re back together, and I think now — I think sometimes people shouldn’t get back together — sometimes it’s not the right thing. For us it was the right thing.”
Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor got married in 2000 and share two kids, daughter Ella, 22, and son Quinlin, 19.
