Jim Carrey just named the film he “regrets.”

The 62-year-old iconic actor and comedian revealed the heartbreaking reason behind one of his supporting roles, that altered his perspective on future projects.

Naming the film, Kick-Ass 2, he has left fans upset after he expressed how he no longer likes his performance in the action-comedy despite popular belief that he was “great” in the movie.

Now that he has stopped taking up roles of similar nature, Carrey explained that there was nothing wrong with the film that made him change his mind but the life-altering events that occurred afterwards.

"I did Kick-Ass a month before Sandy Hook and now in all good conscience I cannot support that level of violence," he mentioned as per The Mirror.

The Dumb and Dumber continued, "I meant to say my apologies to others involve with the film. I am not ashamed of it but recent events have caused a change in my heart."

Carrey portrays a former mafia member turned born-again Christian, Colonel Stars and Stripes in Kick-Ass 2.

The violence depicted in the film may have led to a “change in [his] heart," they left the film's producer, Mark Millar, perplexed.

Millar posted a blog post that assured everyone nothing in the film was gatekept from the actor nor the rest of the cast, due to which the final cut should not have come out as a surprise.

"I'm baffled by this sudden announcement as nothing seen in this picture wasn't in the screenplay 18 months ago," he had said in response to Jim Carrey.
