Missy Elliott just found a way too keep the late Aaliyah’s memory alive.

On what would’ve been the R&B icon’s 46th birthday if she had lived, Elliott took to her official X, formerly Twitter account to celebrate the musician’s memory who has remained a close collaborator of the rapper before she died in plane crash at the age of 22 in 2001.

"Babygirl the IMPACT that you have left in the years you spent here with the world is UNDENIABLE. Leaving generations to know your name 'AALIYAH'," the 53-year-old Grammy-winning artist wrote.

Elliot, who wrote and produced songs from Aaliyah’s One in a Million and self-titled albums, also stated, "They continue to learn of your UNIQUE Music ORIGINAL Style & GLOWING personality. You will NEVER be 4Gotten."

The singer, who has also been recently inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, then addressed Aaliyah's brother, Rashad Haughton, who recently collaborated with Mattel on a Aaliyah-inspired Barbie doll to celebrate her birthday and legacy.

Tagging Rashad Missy Elliot wrote, "Much love to you, your sis would be proud."

It is pertinent to mention that despite having a short-lived career, Aaliyah gained massive popularity after releasing three albums that garnered top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 by the grace of songs Back & Forth, At Your Best (You Are Love), The One I Gave My Heart To, Try Again and Miss You.
