Dakota Johnson, Chris Martin shut down split rumour with recent outing

Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin have quashed breakup speculations with a rare outing.

The couple was photographed holding hands and smiling while out on the streets of Mumbai, India, on Friday. At one point, the Madame Web actress, 35, also waved at the camera. 

The actress was donning a fitted black tank midi dress with a gray sweater tied around her waist. She completed the look with black sneakers and a black graphic baseball cap that matched Martin's cap, who kept his outfit casual in a long-sleeved gray shirt, dark pants, and white sneakers.

The Coldplay frontman, 47, is currently completing the Indian leg of his sold-out Music of the Spheres World Tour. The couple also visited the iconic Shri Babulnath Temple on Friday and wore ethnic clothing.

Martin and Johnson were first linked in 2017 and made their first public appearance together at Stella McCartney’s Autumn 2018 Collection event in January 2018.

The couple is said to have been engaged for “years” after first sparking rumours in 2020 but “were in no rush to get married,” a source told People Magazine.

The musician also once called the Fifty Shades of Grey actress one of his “best friends" in an interview with Rolling Stone last month.
