Ringo Starr, an English musician, sat down for an interview with The Sunday Times where he opened up about an experience at Elton John’s 1975 show at Wembley Stadium.

Starr was in attendance at the concert along with John’s now late mother, Sheila Farebrother.

For that show, the musician had made the choice to only perform the songs from his latest album Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy, "He came on and said, 'I’m only going to do the new album. Me and his mother left after three tracks because we didn’t know them."

The album went on to be nominated at the Grammy Awards later in 1976, in the categories of Best Pop Vocal Performance: Male as well as Album of the Year.

Having performed himself earlier this week in Nashville, Starr admitted that his experience at John’s concert impacted the consideration of how much of a new album should be performed.

"In the late '90s, I would put in, like, two or three from the new album, and you could feel the room empty. It happens to everybody," he stated.

Profits from the shows being performed by Starr will be used for the aid of the L.A. fires victims and the American Red Cross.
