Meghan Markle upset by backlash over 'Disaster Tourists' comments

Meghan Markle has apparently reacted to the backlash she received after visiting Los Angeles in the wake of the devastating wildfires recently.

Commenting on Meghan and Prince Harry’s visit to a meal distribution center set up for people affected by the wildfires that have devastated Los Angeles, Hollywood actress turned producer Justine Bateman said: “Meghan Markle and Harry are no better than ambulance chasers. What a repulsive "photo op" they achieved.”

She continued, “They are ‘touring the damage’? Are they politicians now? They don't live here; they are tourists.

“Disaster Tourists. #PalisadesFire.”

Amid criticism, an insider told the Heat World, Meghan, who is originally from Los Angeles, is particularly upset by the criticism.

The insider said, “For Meghan especially, it cuts extremely deep and touches a major nerve. This is her home city burning to the ground, she wants to help, and yet by doing that she’s still getting treated like garbage.

“Harry is telling her how proud he is, that the only way to handle it is to turn the other cheek and keep their side of the street clean. But of course it gets them down and hurts like hell for both of them, how could it not?”
