Baekhyun from the K-pop group Exo recently held a session on X, formerly known as Twitter, where he answered fans' questions.

In one of his responses, the idol revealed his plans for the day, which included him skipping lunch to have dinner later on instead.

“I have a dinner gathering later! So I’m skipping lunch and just planning to have dinner. Have a great time at Kyungsoo’s pop-up! Have lots of fun with your friends!! Make sure to dress warmly!,” he wrote.

Another fan then responded to the tweet by asking him how he managed to go through long periods without food to which he responded, “At some point, the hunger just disappears, you know?… Once that happens, you can endure for quite a while!”

Fans quickly began to discuss the response, claiming it was promoting a negative relationship with food.

One user stated, "yeah this is not… do whatever you want with yourself but telling your fans (young and impressionable) to engage in unhealthy behaviour to a dangerous extent is incredibly irresponsible.”

“tw eating habits it’s really been difficult to continue to see him consistently encourage such unhealthy relationships with food. even if it isn’t intentional, his words and attitudes as someone with such a massive fan base, end up influencing them one way or another,” added another.

Other users decided to defend Baekhyun by claiming that he was only describing his own plans, and did not try to enforce his opinion on anyone.

The idol did not respond to any of the criticism, nor did his agency.
