Prince Harry admitted during an interview that he loves his father King Charles and brother Prince William but there's been absolutely no effort from his family for reconciliation.
A new article published in Vanity Fair said that the Duke of Sussex had "genuine hope" of hearing from his father and brother after publishing his memoir in January 2023.
Spare became an instant bestseller when it was published on Jan. 10, 2023, selling over 6 million copies around the world and earning the Guinness World Record for the fastest-selling nonfiction book of all time.
Vanity Fair reported that Harry himself confided in a guest at an event in 2023 that he had not received any contact from royal relatives since the book's release.
"That's sort of what made me so sad. His hope seemed very genuine. And I was just kind of like, 'Oh, no', the publication quoted the source as saying.
The source said, "The power of the written word, and the power of the narrative. I don't know if that's something he understood while he was doing it."
The guest suggested Harry had not "absorbed the gravity" of publishing the memoir, which included explosive accusations against his family.
Harry visited the UK in February last year when King Charles was diagnosed with cancer.
The Duke's meeting with the king marked their first formal encounter since Queen Elizabeth II's funeral in September 2022.
The article notes Harry has drawn direct parallels between his late mother Princess Diana and Meghan, expressing fears of "history repeating itself".
