Spencer Pratt and his wife Heidi Montag made a "life-changing" amount of money through social media after their house tragedy in Southern Californian fires.

In a recent chat with Variety, the 41-year-old reality revealed that he has witnessed the power of social platforms and confessed that this has helped his family in gaining financial aid after losing their $2.5 million mansion.

"I made, like, $4,000 on TikTok this week, but on TikTok Live, where people can just give to me direct, I think maybe $20,000. So that's phenomenal, and life-changing," he admitted.

He went on to say, "That's the power of individual supporters, people just backing you and getting behind you."

"And that's the most powerful when you don't have to rely on ads or AI and algorithms when just actual human beings just want to give. It's unbelievable and incredible," he remarked.

Moreover, Spencer used the Chinese-owned app for the promotion of his wife's 2010 album, Superficial and he is hopeful for an upcoming opportunity after being viral on TikTok amid the wildfires.

"I have no idea how much money [the music has made]. I don't know if it comes in cheques or when I'm more excited about the energy and opportunities that come from it. I don't think these streams and all these charts [make money]," Spencer added.

The comment came after the app was restored following a short ban by the US government on the video-making platform on Saturday, January 18.
