Duchess Sophie of Edinburgh receives bad news on milestone birthday

Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, received a sad news as she gears up to celebrate turning 60 after a former royal butler made shocking claims.

According to former royal butler Grand Harrold, wife of Prince Edward would not be getting a new title contrary to ongoing speculations.

In a conversation with Royal Insider, Harrold, who served King Charles from 2004 to 2011, revealed that while the monarch and Queen Camilla would throw Sophie a birthday party, rumours of her getting a new title are untrue.

“The king and queen will no doubt get her presents as will the rest of the royals as well as her party,” Harrold told the publication.

“She is a senior member of the royal family and a very important and crucial one,” he continued.

“But regarding the speculation she will get a new title, I don’t think she will as now the Duchess of Edinburgh following the passing of Queen Elizabeth and that’s a big title.

“And as for any more responsibilities, I don’t think there will be as she and Edward already do a lot and have taken on more over the years.”

This comes after Buckingham Palace dropped delightful portraits of the Duchess ahead of her milestone birthday as she posed at the Bagshot Park.
