Jun from the K-pop group Seventeen is making his way to the big screen alongside big names like Jackie Chan and Tony Leung Ka Fai.

The movie, The Shadow’s Edge will star the idol as the character Hu Feng, a member of the antagonistic Yangzi Tuan.

It follows the struggle of the authorities as they try to bring an end to a major criminal organization. Chan will be taking on the role of a veteran detective meanwhile Ka-fai will portray Hu Feng’s adoptive father, who will be the primary antagonist.

Best known for Mountain Cry, which made waves at the 2015 Busan International Film Festival, it will be directed by Larry Yang.

This is far from being the idol’s first step into acting, as he previously secured several accolades for his role in The Pye-Dog, which included a nomination in the Hong Kong Film Awards.

He also stepped into the world of Korean dramas through his roles in Cloudy with a Chance of Sunshine and Exclusive Fairytale.

Fans of the actor were elated at his accolades, as one user took to social media to write, “Last year, Jun won the rising star award in Busan International Film Festival and in front of all those respected actors and directors, he promoted Seventeen's comeback. The amount of love of Jun has for SVT is insane and seeing carats neglecting him makes me really mad!”

News of the casing in The Shadow’s Edge has only heightened the rising anticipation for the movie.
