Naomi Watts recently got candid and opened up about how she discusses difficult topics with her children.
Speaking to PEOPLE magazine, the 56-year-old shared a funny but awkward moment when one of her teenagers found her new vibrator, which glows in the dark and has different speeds, on her bed.
The Mulholland Drive star said, “Yeah, it was embarrassing for my teenager and me. But it wasn’t so surprising.”
Watts stated that her kids, 17-year-old Sasha and 16-year-old Kai, are used to her talking about things that people do not often discuss, as she talks openly about her hard experience with menopause.
“I think there are moments where they’re completely grossed out, and there are moments where they’re like, ‘Rock on Mom,’” the mother of two mentioned, shedding light on her children’s reaction to her openness.
For the unversed, The Impossible actress is now a well-known voice on menopause, but it took her years to share her story.
At the age of 36, after acting in Peter Jackson’s 2005 film King Kong and trying to have children, she was in awe to discover her early menopause.
It is pertinent to mention that Naomi Watts also discussed menopause in her new book, Dare I Say It: Everything I Wish I’d Known About Menopause.
