Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales recently revealed she's in remission following cancer treatment.
A royal insider has revealed that the news of Kate's remission feels "like a veil has been lifted."
On January 14, 2025, Kate released a statement, sharing that she is now focusing on recovery and adjusting to her "new normal."
Now, in PEOPLE's this week cover story an inside source shared, "She has drawn a line under the last year, and she can move forward. The word 'remission' is such a positive one to use, and it just feels a veil has been lifted on their life of the last year, and that they can move forward with positivity and hope."
Moreover, a source close to the royal family told the outlet that "It has been a tough journey — harder than we perhaps thought. She has been through a lot, and it has been a rough road. Serious illness like cancer does change you.”
“She has a young family, and it makes you rethink everything—your purpose and what you want to do with your life,” the source added of Princess Catherine.
They went on to add that for the Princess of Wales, who is mother to Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, her "family — her husband and children — are more important than anything else."
Additionally, Kate Middleton also visited the Royal Marsden Hospital in London recently, where she underwent chemotherapy treatments in 2024. During her visit, Princess Catherine spoke about her journey and how important it is to adjust to the long-term side effects of treatment.
