Chris Pratt has expressed relief after discovering his Los Angeles home is still standing following the devastating wildfires that swept through the Pacific Palisades area.
In an Instagram video shared on Wednesday, the Avengers: Endgame star revealed his property was spared while reflecting on the widespread destruction caused by the fires.
In this regard, he said in the video which was filmed in his SUV after surveying the damage, "By the grace of God, we have four walls and a roof.”
Despite his home’s survival, the actor somberly acknowledged the losses endured by his community, including his son Jack's school and the $5 million Pacific Palisades mansion of his ex-wife, Anna Faris.
According to Daily Mail, the wildfires, which began earlier this month, have devastated numerous homes in Los Angeles County.
As of Wednesday evening, the Pacific Palisades fire is 70% contained, while the Eaton fire in Altadena is 95% contained.
However, a new blaze in the Castaic Lake area remains only 5% contained, posing further risks.
Moreover, Faris, who shares son Jack with Pratt, purchased her Pacific Palisades home in 2019, two years after her separation from the actor, as per the outlet.
The former couple finalized their divorce in 2018, and Pratt has since remarried Katherine Schwarzenegger, with whom he shares three children.
Additionally, Pratt expressed gratitude for his family’s safety but acknowledged the devastation surrounding them by saying, "The community’s gone. My son’s school is gone. Dozens of our friends lost their homes.”
Furthermore, the actor concluded his message with a note of resilience and hope. "It’s been a tough few weeks, but we’re resilient. Praying for LA and all those impacted. We’ll get through this together. God bless."
