Sebastian Stan plays Donald Trump in The Apprentice, and now the Academy Awards nominated the star in the Best Actor category.

The Ali-Abbasi-directed biopic bombed at the box office and divided the critics. But the Marvel star's portrayal of the U.S. president stood out.

In an earlier interview with Access Hollywood after his first Golden Globes win, he said he'll always be "damn proud" of "The Apprentice" because it's a "reflection of the truth that we haven't been given."

"[What] I came to love about this country is, like, it is full of immigrants, it is about people coming from all over the world, enhancing it, raising it up, offering different perspectives," the 42-year-old added.

"It can't just be one sad story of doom and gloom and fear and ****** unsuppressed rage, which is what you see on this damn television all the time," he concluded.

In the meantime, the U.S. president made his views on the film public in a post on Truth Social in October.

"It's a cheap, defamatory, and politically disgusting hatchet job, put out right before the 2024 Presidential Election, to try and hurt the Greatest Political Movement in the History of our Country, 'MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!,'" he blasted at the time.
