The Night Agent star Gabriel Basso has opened up about an intense fight scene from season 2.
Speaking with PEOPLE Magazine, Basso revealed that “I did all the fighting” in the Netflix series, although the stuntman would “step in and do some of the line rigging and fall.”
The actor went on to add that the fight was filmed with handheld cameras operated by crew members who previously worked on the John Wick franchise.
He said, “The stuntmen are putting their bodies on the line. I'm putting my body on the line to some degree. And so, the cameraman has gotta do his job well. they all crushed it.”
“You should see these guys work with handheld — when they're holding cameras — it's crazy. They're on the ground and they stand in it, and it's wild. It's just really cool to work with people that are really good at their jobs," Basso added, praising the crew.
Basso admitted to getting “nervous” before the fights that in real life they are "not as nerve wracking as fake fights for me, for some reason.”
"There's a lot more to think about in a stunt fight," he said.
Additionally, the actor also recalled getting hit in the head, saying, “I hit my head pretty hard when I kicked back off that thing in the basement fight.”
“But you just get up and you treat it like a fight. And if you're in that headspace, 'This is a fight,' you're not gonna call cut and say, 'Ouchie.' You just sort of roll with it and hope it plays,” he added further.
