James Gunn gives big update about 'Supergirl'

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is setting off as James Gunn shares the first image from the shooting set of Daughter of Krypton.

"Thrilled to see cameras roll at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden on 'Supergirl,'" he shared on X. 

"Craig brings an incredible sensibility to this story, and Milly is every inch the unique #Supergirl envisioned by Tom King, Bilquis Evely & Ana Nogueira."

The House of the Dragon actress Milly Alcock will lead the DC movie. "In case you missed this exciting news yesterday. Strangely, Milly was the FIRST person I brought up to Peter (Safran) for this role, well over a year ago, when I had only read the comics," James shared on Threads.

In other news, James teased another DC project but did not share its name.

"The bulk of my time is dealing with post-production on Superman and Peacemaker. But I'm also spending a fair amount of time pre-writing my next DC Studios project and watching dailies and offering ideas on the other projects."

"It's much less overwhelming than when I was directing," he shared in a post on social media.

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is set to hit the cinemas on June 26, 2026.
