Drew Barrymore recalled how her "dream family" fell apart amid her divorce from Will Kopelman.

In a recent chat with AARP The Magazine for its February/March 2025 issue, the 49-year-old host got candid about navigating her family life after her marriage of four years.

Recalling the hard time, Barrymore noted, “My dream family was falling apart and I didn't know how to put one foot in front of the other."

The TV host continued, "And I had grown up so fast but now I didn’t know what age to feel—I just knew that my life was heavy, and painful and sad—and I sat in that for a while."

"Eventually, thank goodness, I lifted myself out of it," she said, adding, "I had two kids and I had to figure it out."

Barrymore and Kopelman, who tied the knot in 2012, are parents to two daughters Olive and Frankie.

The pair have maintained a healthy co-parenting relationship even after Kopelman's marriage with Alexandra Michler in August 2021.
