Reality TV stars Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag have filed a lawsuit against the City of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) following the destruction of their home in the Pacific Palisades Fire earlier this month.

The lawsuit, filed on Tuesday, January 21, in California's Superior Court in Los Angeles County, alleges that mismanagement of the water supply by the city and LADWP played a significant role in exacerbating the fire's impact.

It described the fire as "an inescapable and unavoidable consequence" of the city's alleged negligence.

While joining the lawsuit as plaintiffs are Spencer's mother, Janet Pratt, and William Pratt, whose relationship to Spencer is unconfirmed but who reportedly resides with Janet in the same home.

According to People, Spencer's sister, Stephanie Pratt, revealed on social media that their parents' home was also destroyed in the fire just hours after Spencer and Heidi’s.

The plaintiffs, described as "property owners, tenants, and individuals," cite severe damages, including destroyed homes, mandatory evacuations, medical expenses, business disruptions, and emotional distress.

In an emotional interview with the outlet, Spencer shared that he and Heidi remain active on social media as a means of income following their loss as she said, "If we were rich, I wouldn’t be on an app," he said. "This is how we already made money before. That’s our way of life."
