The Grammy-winning singer and songwriter, Kelly Clarkson, recently got candid and revealed "surprising" plans regarding her music career.
On the Wednesday, January 22 episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the 42-year-old pop star shared that she had started her own label.
The news came as the host talked with guest Keke Palmer about her musical group DivaGurl, who has also had her own record label for "six or seven years.”
Apparently looking impressed, Clarkson announced that she had also decided to revive her musical career again.
"I'm so much older than you...and it's my first time in my career and I just now started my own label and I'm putting out my own stuff,” the Stronger crooner stated.
“And I've had some good teams, like, to work with, but there is nothing like being that 10-year-old again and being excited and nobody saying 'Oh, you should do this' and 'You should do this,’” the American Idol alum added.
The 31-year-old Christmas hitmaker, Palmer, articulated, "People don't know how hard it is."
Responding to the One of Them Days star, Clarkson mentioned, "Girl, I'm finding out. I'm putting together a music video, and I'm like, 'Wait, I forgot to do what?' I just now started it. I started writing, and I was like, 'Wait, how do I put this out now?' And then, I was like 'Well, I guess through me.'"
"I feel like I've earned it, so I'm excited. I think I've earned the moment,” she concluded.
For the unversed, Kelly Clarkson won American Idol in 2002 and signed a record deal with RCA, where she released seven albums, including Breakaway and Piece By Piece.
She left RCA in 2016 and joined Atlantic Records, releasing albums like Meaning of Life and Chemistry in June 2023.
It is pertinent to mention that as of January 24, her name was still on Atlantic's artist list.
