Miley Cyrus and her family are avoiding further family chaos.
A source close to the family has broken silence on Trace Cyrus’s open letter of concern to Billy Ray over his performance at Donald Trump's presidential inauguration.
“They got through the drama of 2024, and it's a new year,” the insider told People Magazine. “Miley and Noah and Braison and Tish, they don't want to be this Cyrus family feud. This is not enjoyable for them.”
On Friday, the singer announced that he will release a new album this summer produced by Braison.
Before the announcement, the Old Town Road musician had made headlines with technical troubles during the inauguration performance.
The source suggested that the album news was a “long-planned announcement” that Billy Ray decided back in the fall and was not a crisis response to the week’s events.
As for Trace, his letter said “me and the girls have been genuinely worried about you for years but you’ve pushed all of us away… You’re not healthy Dad & everyone is noticing it.”
Trace also feared in his letter that "the world may lose" Billy Ray too soon and lauded him for his sobriety.
Meanwhile, Braison praised his musician dad in a congratulatory statement over the new record.
In response, Billy Ray said he was “so proud to lean into the music” with his son and that the album was “gonna be special.”
Billy Ray, 63, is dad to sons Trace, 35, and Braison, 30, and daughters Brandi, 37, Miley, 31, and Noah, 25, with Tish, 57, whom he divorced in 2022. The singer is also dad to son Christopher, 32.
