Reese Witherspoon, Will Ferrell join dance trend ahead of new comedy release

Reese Witherspoon and Will Ferrell may be at odds in their upcoming film, You're Cordially Invited, but off-screen, the duo is embracing the latest TikTok trend.

In a video posted on Witherspoon's TikTok account on Friday, the actors danced to Lola Young’s track Messy, mimicking the viral choreography popularized in November by Sofia Richie Grainge and Jake Shane.

Moreover, the 48-year-old actress and 57-year-old comedian coordinated their outfits in black and gray for the clip.

In regards to this, Ferrell recreated Shane’s moves, walking in place and shaking his hands to the beat, while Witherspoon joined in, grooving to the music and lip-syncing to the lyrics.

The caption read, "Us? Messy? Wait until you see your movie…," referencing their upcoming comedy.

Additionally, the video has already amassed over 4 million views and caught the attention of Richie Grainge herself, who commented, "Life. Made."

According to People, You're Cordially Invited is set to premiere on Prime Video on January 30 and the movie stars Witherspoon as the sister of a bride and Ferrell as the father of a bride.

Chaos ensues when their loved ones accidentally book weddings on the same day at the same venue.

Furthermore, the film, written and directed by Nicholas Stoller, promises plenty of comedic moments as the two characters clash while trying to preserve their respective celebrations.

It is worth mentioning that the movie also features Meredith Hagner, Geraldine Viswanathan, Jimmy Tatro, and Leanne Morgan, among others.
