Andie MacDowell made a lighthearted appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday, where she opened up about experiencing what she humorously calls “reverse nepotism” due to her daughter, Margaret Qualley, gaining fame.
The Way Home actress explained that while nepotism is often accused of benefiting children of famous figures, she feels she’s now gaining recognition because she’s “Margaret Qualley’s mom” and “Jack Antonoff’s mother-in-law.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Antonoff, a prominent singer and producer, married Qualley in 2023, adding to MacDowell's “double whammy” of newfound fame.
Moreover, MacDowell also shared that she’s been receiving “letters in the mailbox” from young fans, calling her “wonderful.”
Additionally, the 66-year-old actress has certainly garnered a fresh audience, thanks to her 30-year-old daughter’s rising career.
As per the publication, Margaret Qualley, who stars in The Substance alongside Demi Moore and earned a Golden Globe nomination for her role, has been making waves in Hollywood.
Furthermore, MacDowell expressed immense pride in her daughter’s boldness, saying, “She takes so many chances. She’s so much braver than I could have ever been.”
It is worth mentioning that in addition to Margaret, MacDowell shares two other children, daughter Rainey Qualley and son Justin Qualley, with her ex-husband, Paul Qualley.
