Robbie Williams, an English singer and songwriter, has made history in the UK charts through his album for the biopic, Better Man.
He is now on the same level as The Beatles, holding the record for the most amount of albums taking the top spot.
The singer gushed, “What a huge honour this is!”
The flick, which has been directed by Michael Gracey, follows Williams as he rose to fame as a part of the pop group, Take That and his subsequent fall amidst personal challenges.
In a unique twist, the singer is shown as a chimpanzee with the movements being performed by Jonno Davies and the voice acting done by Williams.
“Thank you to everyone who has supported the album and the movie. What a huge honour it is to get my 15th UK Number 1 album. A special thank you to all my fans, whose support I never take for granted,” he told Official Charts.
He added, “I'm so proud of the film 'Better Man', so to have the soundtrack album reach Number 1 makes it even more special.”
Hits such as Angels, Better Man, Let Me Entertain You, Rock DJ, a fresh version of Relight My Fire and the brand new track, Forbidden Road make up the soundtrack.
Despite his personal success, the film has been declared as having bombed in the US Box Office, making $1.1 million despite having a budget of $10 million. Although its performance was marginally better in the UK, it still did not meet the initial predictions.
