Rose from the K-pop group Blackpink has made history by achieving a Guinness World Record that has never been won before in K-pop.
After having recently released her solo album Rosie, it was announced that the singer has now become the first K-pop artist to have stolen the top spot on the Top 100 Global Chart from Apple Music.
Achieving the feat with her title track Apt., which is a collaboration with Bruno Mars, the Guinness World Records announced, “Rosé has been confirmed as the first K-pop artist to reach No.1 on Apple Music's Top 100: Global chart. She scored her first No. 1 on October 24th with 'APT.'”
It is far from the first solo achievement that she has achieved with Rosie, as she recently became the first K-pop soloist to have earned a top ten hit on the UK charts.
She has also been awarded several accolades including the award for Song of the Year from the Asia Artist Awards as well as a nomination for Best Music Video from iHeartRadio Music Awards.
Apt. also went on to become the highest charting K-pop act on the Pop Airplay chart from Billboard, which follows the popularity of tracks being played on the US radio.
