Drew Barrymore gets honest about her divorce

Drew Barrymore, in a candid moment, sheds light on a plan she says she was "too much invested," but it fell out. It was her divorce from Will Kopelman.

Though the actress had faced separation in the past but on her The Drew Barrymore Show, she adds her split with her children's father left her deeply affected.

"I think, for me, when I got divorced from my kids' dad, I don't think I have fully recovered from that in the sense of I just…" she tells her guests Joy Behar and Susie Essman. "I was so invested in that plan."

The ex-couple began dating in 2011 and married a year later. But four years later, they parted ways.

"I don't recommend divorce, it's really… it's a drag," Joy said, to which Drew replied, "Yeah, it destroyed me."

Moreover, the divorce from Will appeared to have such an impact on the actress that she, in an interview with People in 2020, said, "Never. Never, never, never. I will never get married again!"

"And I also believe people should not say the word 'never,' and I will never, with a capital N-E-V-E-R, never get married," Drew concluded.
