Timothee Chalamet made his Saturday Night Live (SNL) debut with comedic legend Adam Sandler.

The 29-year-old actor and producer was both the host and musical guest on SNL on January 25, 2025.

Before his first musical performance, the 58-year-old Sandler made a surprise appearance, introducing Chalamet.

He pronounced the Dune actor’s name in a funny, Sandler-fied way, continuing a joke that was made at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards on January 5, 2025.

During her opening speech at the awards show, host Nikki Glaser joked about Chalamet's name, saying, "Your name sounds like something Adam Sandler would say."

Then the Grown Ups star, sitting in the audience, responded with his own funny way of saying the name.

Sandler kept the same energy during his latest appearance on SNL.

Chalamet, who plays Bob Dylan in his new movie A Complete Unknown, performed a medley of Outlaw Blues and Three Angels, and in his opening monologue, he joked about "keep losing" at award shows.

He quipped, "Each time it gets harder to pretend it doesn’t sting,” prior to a video that showed him losing to people like Gary Oldman and Mahershala Ali.

Then, while the Wonka star tried to practice his acceptance speech, the pretend award was announced, but it was given to Kenan Thompson instead.

Notably, Saturday Night Live is now in its 50th season and airs on weekends on NBC.
