QUETTA: Quetta police in a major development busted a gang of kidnappers, Capital City Police Officer said here on Friday.
Addressing a press conference, CCPO Quetta, Mir Zubair Mehmood flanked by DIG operations Fawaz Sunbal and DIG investigations Mubin Ahmed said that five kidnappers were taken into custody after a brief encounter, which took place in Eastern Bypass area of the city.
"The detained kidnappers have confessed to have committed several acts of kidnapping for ransom," he said adding arms, fake number plates and other stuff used for abduction was also recovered.
CCPO said that police on the basis of investigation was very close to arrest the elements who have been using children for bomb blast and other sabotage acts to create law and order situation in the provincial capital.
" A child injured on April 24 explosion in Satellite town area was actually planting bomb which detonated," he revealed and declined to share more information with media extracted from child and progress made in this connection.
Mir Zubair, however said that elements opposed to peace allure the children belonging to poor families and train them in training camps." We have clues to these camps and soon the perpetrators would be behind the bar," he added.
To a question, he said that foolproof security plan has been chalked out by the LEAs to prevent untoward incident on May 11 and feel citizens secure to cast vote in a peaceful manner.
The caretaker government, CCPO said has provided LEAs required funds, resources and police force is well equipped to maintain peace on May 11. (APP)
