British-Pakistani entertainer and social media personality Chahat Fateh Ali Khan has threatened to take legal action against television host Mathira after she alleged that Chaht made her feel “uncomfortable” during one of their interactions on her show last week.

Mathira spoke after Chahat posted two videos of their interaction on his Instagram: singing for Mathira in one video and both getting close and hugging each other.

In a video statement, Mathira talked about meeting Chahat and the viral video released by Chahat. She said the video was uploaded by Chahat without her consent as it was also not streamed on air.

She said: “We believe that guests should be respected [however] this occurrence was very bad. Me, being a woman, yes, I was very uncomfortable because I don’t do this, I don’t hug people. Yes, I am a bold personality but that doesn’t mean you can hug me when you meet me.”

After silence of four days, Chahat responded to her in a video sent to Geo News. He said: “Mathira was speaking out against him when in reality she pleaded for months that he appear on her show because it wasn’t doing well. She begged me to be on her show to improve her ratings and I wanted to help her.”

He then claimed that after the show was a hit and everything had happened, the host accused him of harassment, “which is a big accusation”.

Chahat said: “I will take you to court. I have spoken to my lawyers and I will be suing her. These allegations are false.”
