WhatsApp is rolling out an exciting new update that simplifies the process of sharing status updates and improves accessibility to status creation tools.

According to WABetaInfo, the new update is currently available to some beta testers who download the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.3.22 update via the Google Play Store.

As part of the Meta-owned popular instant-messaging app's latest update, users will be able to see two additional shortcuts inside the gallery sheet when tapping the floating action button within the 'Updates' tab.

These shortcuts allow users to quickly create text-based updates or share voice messages as status updates, expanding the types of updates beyond just photos and videos.

Additionally, WhatsApp introduced a dedicated shortcut for recording voice messages directly within the status update creation screen.

Previously, the option to record voice status updates was unified with the feature for creating text-based status updates.

By separating these options, WhatsApp is making voice status updates even more visible and accessible, without the need to select the tab to create text status updates.

This change is particularly beneficial for users who may not have been aware that they could already share voice messages as status updates, encouraging more users to experiment with voice status updates and discover new ways to communicate with their contacts.

It is worth mentioning that some users may have a different interface configuration as the feature will be rolled out to a limited number of users.

The new feature will be rolled out to even more people over the coming weeks.
