KARACHI: Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) leader Altaf Hussain, has vehemently condemned the agreement reached between Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Jamat -e- Islami (JI) in lower Deer Division to ban women from voting, Geo News reported.
In a statement issued from London, he declared that this agreement was inhuman, undemocratic, un-Islamic, and against fundamental rights of women.
He further added that this unholy understanding reached between the two political parties was tantamount to pushing Pakistan back into the Stone Age.
Hussain said that he hoped that all those who believed in women rights would raise their voice against this “inhuman agreement.”
He also appealed to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and the caretaker government to take notice of this brazen violation of human as well as women rights and act against those who were not allowing women to caste their votes.
