Days after tying the knot with actor-model Ameer Gillani, re-release of starlet Mawra Hocane’s debut Bollywood film Sanam Teri Kasam has made its mark at the Indian box office.
Originally released in 2016, the film starring Mawra and directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, Sanam Teri Kasam has surpassed its previous box office earnings within two days of its re-release, according to The Indian Express.
On Monday, the film, which has Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra as its lead actors, recorded a domestic net collection of 30 million to 32.5 million Indian rupees (approximately Rs96–104 million) bringing its total to INR 185 million (approximately Rs595 million) as it secured INR 90 million (approximately Rs289 million) in 2016.
Film and industry experts are now estimating for it to close its first re-release week with a whopping INR 270 to 300 million (approximately Rs868 to 964 million) as within a few days, it has garnered twice the combined net of Badass Ravikumar and Loveyapa.
Sanam Teri Kasam was written by Rao and Sapru themselves and featured actors Manish Chaudhari, Pyumori Mehta, Divyetta Singh, Murli Sharma and Sudesh Berry in key roles.
The music of the film was composed by Himesh Reshammiya and cinematography by Chirantan Das.
The milestone comes just days after Mawra got married to Gillani in an intimate wedding ceremony that has gained attention and love from fans and industry fellows.
