Pakistan qualify for quarter finals of Asian squash championship

Junior squash team defeats Macau's side by 3-0 with Abdullah Nawaz leading the charge

KARACHI: Pakistan advanced to the quarterfinals of the 22nd Asian Junior Squash Team Championships 2025 after defeating Macau, China 3-0 in their final group match on Thursday.

Abdullah Nawaz led the charge with a convincing 11-3, 11-4, 11-6 win over Ka Hei Lei in 16 minutes. 

Anas Ali Shah followed suit, overcoming Keng In Leong 11-3, 11-3, 11-4 in 15 minutes. Sakhi Ullah Khan Tareen sealed the victory with an 11-3, 11-3, 11-7 triumph against Ian Miguel De Dousa in 16 minutes.

Pakistan’s unbeaten run in the tournament includes victories over India and China earlier in the competition. 

The team now plays Japan in their quarterfinal as they aim for the championship title.
