JI withdraws appeal for strike on Monday

KARACHI: The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) here Saturday said that it is withdrawing its previous appeal of shutter-down strike in Karachi on Monday and now a peaceful 'black day' would be observed against what it termed a 'massive rigging of polls in Karachi'.

A meeting of JI Saturday night reviewed the situation and observed that the city had already remained closed for two full days and also felt that the Karachiites would suffer due to the strike.

Therefore, the party decided to observe a peaceful black day on Monday, may 13, 2013.
