WhatsApp is rolling out a feature to keep chat list filters permanently visible, significantly improving user convenience, and some beta testers can already get their hands on it.
According to WABetaInfo, some beta testers who download the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.4.12 update via the Google Play Store can explore the latest feature.
However, it will be rolled out to even more people over the coming weeks.
The new feature that ensures chat filters remain pinned at the top of the chat list when opening the popular Meta-owned instant-messaging app, eliminating the need for users to scroll through the chat list for the filters to appear, as required previously.
This change significantly improves user convenience and the chat navigation process as filters are now instantly accessible without any extra steps.
It is particularly useful for those who rely on chat filters to manage their conversations efficiently.
For example, users who have categorised their chats into personal, work, and group conversations can instantly check for unread messages in each section.
Meanwhile, businesses and professionals who handle multiple chat threads will also benefit from this update, as they can prioritise responses more efficiently.
Additionally, some beta testers may also notice that the filter to display their favourites has been automatically moved ahead of other secondary lists.
With this change, WhatsApp enables users to mark specific contacts as favourites for quick access so that they can find their most important contacts effortlessly, without having to manually adjust the filter order.
