President Zardari felicitates nation on elections

KARACHI: President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday felicitated the nation on the holding of elections that marked democratic transition in the country.

According to spokesperson to the President Senator Farhatullah Babar, the President while felicitating the nation said the holding of elections in accordance with the Constitutional provisions was triumph of the people and democracy.

The President also felicitated all national institutions and the individuals, who worked hard to make possible the gigantic exercise.

"The people of Pakistan have spoken through the ballot," the he added.

The President expressed the hope that the next phase of democratic transition, including the smooth transfer of power, in accordance with the will of people as expressed by them through vote, would be completed soon, the Spokesperson said.
